West Brom 1 United 2

The champions kicked off the Barclays Premier League season with a hard-fought victory at West Brom, repeating last season's 2-1 success thanks to a strike from Wayne Rooney and an own goal by Steven Reid.

Rooney drilled in an early opener but debutant Shane Long shot past David De Gea for a surprise equaliser and it took Young, on his first league appearance for the Reds, to set up the winner with nine minutes left.

United made an impressive statement of intent from the first whistle as the bold, youthful line-up selected by Sir Alex posted a positive start. Although Paul Scharner managed the first effort of note, it was all United and there was no surprise when Wayne Rooney drew first blood - as he did in this fixture last term.

Rooney expertly flicked a Fabio pass out to Young before collecting the return ball and curling a left-footed finish beyond the reach of Ben Foster in the 13th minute. The Reds were in control with Rooney blasting wide after being afforded too much space and Nani casually lifting a finish wastefully over the top following good approach work by Rooney and Danny Welbeck.

Nani again shot too high when Foster could only pat down a Young corner but Albion worked their way back into the game ominously. De Gea made a flying stop to thwart Scharner, who had stormed onto Long's lay-off but, two minutes later, the Spanish keeper coped less effectively when.

FAN MU MAKIN RAME DI LHOKSEUMAWE

Perkumpulan anak2 lhokseumawe yang cinta MU mulai bermunculan, setelah rekan2 yang ingin memiliki comunity yang fan sama team nya Roney, akhir nya terkumpul juga beberapa kawan2 baik yang muda maupun yang tua, memang sih jumlah nya masih relative sedikit bila dibandingkan dengan fan Inter, dan Fan Milan, yang juga anak2 lhokseumawe,

Berawal dari rekan Fandi, dan Nuzul yang mengajak rekan2 untuk kumpul dan akhirnya terkumpul juga dari data yang telah kami kumpulkan ada sekitar 20 orang fan yang mau bergabung dengan MU Fan Club Lhokseumawe, kami mulai dari kumpul bareng maen futsal ....

The MLS All-Stars may be the best soccer players in America, but they were no match for Sir Alex's Manchester United as the Reds made it four wins from four on this year's US Tour.

Few would have believed it a year ago, but Javier Hernandez's star now shines almost as brightly as Beckham's or Henry's in the United States. Hernandez-mania is in full effect: his name adorns more United shirts than any other player's and even non-football fans recognise his boyish, smiling face.

And although he was never likely to play on tour after competing in the Gold Cup for Mexico in June, supporters at Red Bull Arena were left disappointed after a concussion suffered during training on Tuesday night forced him to spend a night in hospital and watch the game from the comfort of the team's New Jersey hotel.

Kalahkan Turkmenistan 4-3, Indonesia Nyaris Gagal

Jakarta - Indonesia nyaris gagal lolos ke babak ketiga kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2014 zona AFC. Menghadapi Turkmenistan, Indonesia sempat unggul jauh 4-1 tetapi lawan memperkecil skor jadi 3-4.

Bermain di bawah dukungan sekitar 75 ribu penonton di Stadion Gelora Bung Karno, Kamis (28/7/2011), Indonesia unggul 2-0 dalam 18 menit lewat gol ganda Cristian Gonzales.

Gol Muhammad Nasuha di akhir babak pertama membuat 'Merah Putih' unggul 3-0, tetapi Turkmenistan memperkecil ketertinggalan jadi 1-3 berkat gol Arslanmurad Amanov.

Indonesia menjauh lagi jadi 4-1 berkat gol Muhammad Ridwan dan kian di atas angin ketika Turkmenistan dipaksa bermain dengan 10 orang. Tetapi di saat itu justru Turkmenistan mencetak dua gol tambahan melalui usaha Berdy Shamuradov dan Gahrymanberdy Chonkaev.

Kemenangan ini membuat Indonesia lolos ke babak ketiga dengan unggul agregat 5-4 karena di laga pertama di Ashgabat, kedua tim bermain imbang 1-1.
